Storage Vessels#
Self Hosted Cloud Hosted
A storage vessel is a physical container filled from a batch — a keg, or a set of bottles or cans kept together as one item. It’s the anchor for everything after fermentation: tap assignment and conditioning. Pour tracking and standalone serving-temperature readings are coming soon to Cloud Hosted.
Creating and naming storage vessels#
Vessels can be created directly from the vessel list view, or as a side effect of packaging a batch (see Batches). Each vessel has a type — keg or bottles — which determines which fields apply:
Vessel type |
Type-specific fields |
|---|---|
Keg |
Optional tap link, total volume, remaining volume |
Bottles |
Initial bottle count, remaining bottle count, per-bottle volume |
Kegs and bottles are otherwise the same entity — a single vessel list groups them into Filled Kegs, Bottles, and Empty Kegs sections.
Vessel status and conditioning#
A vessel moves through clean (empty, sanitized, available to refill),
filled, conditioning (shown as “Conditioning · X days left”),
ready, and serving.
Keg reuse is tracked with a fill count and an optional user-assigned identifier tag, so the same physical keg can be packaged into repeatedly across its lifetime and still be grouped for hygiene reminders. This works the same way on both editions.
Tracking pour events#
On Self Hosted, every automatic or manual pour against a keg vessel is recorded and reduces its remaining volume. Bottle counts can be adjusted separately. Pour recording is coming soon to Cloud Hosted. Pour history is listed newest-first on the vessel’s Pour tab, with an exclude toggle per row for keeping bad readings out of analytics without deleting them.
Linking a vessel to a batch#
A vessel is linked to the batch it was filled from, either automatically during packaging or manually via the batch/vessel assignment picker. This link is what lets the vessel detail view show the beer’s name, style, and (where cost tracking is enabled) its per-serving cost derived from the parent batch’s recipe cost.
Serving temperature and pressure#
On Self Hosted, a pressure chart can estimate carbonation from a keg’s pressure and temperature readings, and a temperature sensor can trigger a serving alert. Standalone pressure and temperature devices are coming soon to Cloud Hosted.
